Parasyte, also known as Kiseijū in Japanese, is a popular manga series written and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki. It was originally published in Japan by Kodansha from 1988 to 1995 and has since been adapted into several forms of media, including anime, live-action films, and a television drama.

The story follows Shinichi Izumi, a high school student who lives with his parents in Tokyo. One night, alien creatures called Parasytes invade Earth and begin taking over human bodies by entering their ears and consuming their brains. One of these creatures attempts to enter Shinichi's body, but he manages to prevent it from reaching his brain by wearing headphones. Instead, the creature takes over his right hand and names itself Migi.

Shinichi and Migi must learn to coexist as they encounter other Parasytes who have taken over other humans and have begun to prey on humans. The two team up to protect themselves and the people they care about, while also trying to uncover the Parasytes' true intentions for invading Earth.
